Hike More: A Bold Handwritten Font for Clear Campaign Messaging

It’s 9:47 a.m. I’m halfway through building the Instagram carousel for our summer trail gear launch — and the headline on Slide 2 just isn’t landing. It’s legible, sure, but it doesn’t *move*. Doesn’t spark that quick, confident pause in the scroll. So I open my font library, filter by Script Amp, and land on Hike More. Within 90 seconds, I swap it in. Suddenly, the message reads stronger. Sharper. Like it’s already been tested on real trails.

Hike More is a premium handwritten font with serious presence — not fussy, not fragile, but bold, rhythmic, and unmistakably human. Its strokes have weight and intention: thick downstrokes, energetic exits, subtle texture that feels lived-in. It reads as strong, confident, and dynamic — like someone who knows their route and trusts their pace. And yes, it carries a warm, nostalgic character without leaning into retro clichés. That balance is rare.

We used Hike More across six core campaign assets this month: YouTube thumbnails (for a “Trail Prep Tips” series), Pinterest pins promoting our lightweight backpacks, Instagram Reels covers, email banner headers, a limited-time shop promo banner, and even the main headline on our landing page. In every case, it served one clear purpose: to make the message instantly recognizable — even at thumbnail size or in a split-second feed glance.

Here’s what works — and why:

Pairing is where Hike More really earns its place in a modern typography system. We paired it consistently with Inter — a clean, highly legible sans serif — across all assets. The contrast is immediate: Hike More brings voice and energy; Inter delivers structure and scannability. No competing personalities. No visual fatigue. Just smart hierarchy.

You could also pair it thoughtfully with a sturdy serif (like Lora) for editorial-style quote graphics, or with a minimalist script (like Salted) for layered typographic textures — but avoid pairing it with other expressive handwritten fonts. Too much personality cancels itself out.

In practice, that meant:

We also checked the font files before going live. Hike More includes OpenType features — standard ligatures, contextual alternates, and a full set of uppercase/lowercase glyphs. No missing accents or odd spacing hiccups in Spanish or French translations (we ran bilingual versions for select posts). It’s licensed for commercial use — including digital ads, client work, and merch templates — which saved us from last-minute licensing panic when the team asked about adding it to our Shopify theme.

One thing we learned fast: Hike More isn’t a “spray-and-pray” font. It needs breathing room. We stopped trying to fit it into tight grids or cramming it next to icons or complex illustrations. Instead, we gave it space — centered, top-aligned, or anchored to one strong edge. That’s where its confidence really shows up.

It also changed how we approached message framing. Because Hike More carries such a distinct tone, we started writing headlines with more rhythm and punch. “Built for the long haul” landed better than “Durable hiking gear.” “Start your summit” beat “Shop hiking packs.” The font didn’t just display the words — it sharpened the thinking behind them.

And yes — it helped unify the campaign visually. When you see five different assets — a Reels cover, a Pinterest pin, an email banner, a landing page header, and a digital ad — and they all share that same decisive, grounded handwriting, the campaign feels intentional. Cohesive. Human-made, not algorithm-generated.

If you’re choosing a script font for your next campaign, ask yourself: Does it clarify — or complicate? Does it support your message, or distract from it? Hike More answers “yes” to the first and “no” to the second — every time. It’s not just another handwritten font. It’s a communication tool with attitude, built for real workflows, real deadlines, and real audiences scrolling fast.

So next time you’re staring at a half-finished graphic wondering why the energy isn’t clicking — don’t reach for the safe option. Reach for the one that walks the line between bold and readable, nostalgic and current, expressive and precise. Reach for Hike More.
